A new National Champion title for Carassia sparkling wines
The title of National Champion of Romania and the special Best in Class award for Best Sparkling Rose in Romania was awarded to Carassia Rose Magnum sparkling wine at the World Champagne and Sparkling Wine Championships (CSWWC) awards dinner in London.

The third National Champion trophy was handed to our enologist for Carassia Rose Magnum yesterday evening at the Merchant Taylor's Hall dinner in London.
This year's gold medal-winning Carassia Rose Magnum sparkling wine was also awarded the special Best in Class award, Best Non-Vintage Rose Sparkling Wine in Romania. Made from base wines from the exceptional 2018 vintage, Carassia Rose Magnum is the first edition in which chardonnay and 10% red wine are added to the base wine and was matured for three years in this bottle. The jury rated the sparkling wine deep, sumptuous, elegant, and fresh rosé: a serious rosé.
At this year's edition, Carassia Rose Magnum won a gold medal, Carassia Classic and, our first vintage sparkling Carassia 773 Vintage Brut 2018 won the silver medal. More details here
About the CSWWC judging process
At CSWWC the sparkling wine judging process always happens through the blind tasting in three stages. In the first stage, gold and silver medalists are chosen by style and region, then in the second stage, the gold medalists compete for Best in Class awards, and then they are tasted a third time to decide the regional, world, producer of the year and trophy champions. These awards were announced yesterday, 3 November, at The Award Dinner organized at Merchant Taylor's Hall in London.
