Since its first release, Carassia stands every year on the CSWWC award-winners list
Carassia Classic and Carassia Blanc de Blancs won a silver medal at this year’s The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship (CSWWC). It is a great pleasure for us that we have been continuously present on the award-winning list of this prestigious contest. All the awards and the trophies achieved so far proves that we managed to produce world-class sparkling wines every year. This is the fourth year that the judges of The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship (CSWWC) have ranked Carassia sparkling wines among the best wines in the bubbles world.
Carassia Blanc de Blancs Brut made by 100% Chardonnay grapes and Carassia Classic Brut, an assemblage of 60% Chardonnay, 40% Pinot Noir won the silver medal at this year`s competition. Both are made from the base wines of the 2017 harvest, aged on lees twenty-two months. As every year so far, our goal was to highlight the characteristics and beauties of the terroir and a given vintage.
It is a great pleasure for us and a sign of recognition to be one of the medalists of the most prestigious competition in the bubbles world. This is the fourth year that Carassia sparkling wines appear among the largest champagne and sparkling winemakers from all around the world. All the medals collected so far are a definite answer for us that the terroir, the cool climate, the grape varieties, our sparkling wine designated vineyard built to the ground up, combined with our commitment to high-quality standards provides world-class sparkling wines.
The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championship (CSWWC) is not only the largest and most comprehensive but also the most rigorous, professional and well respected international sparkling wine competition in the world. With all entries - a record-breaking 1073 samples - tasted blind by the same three judges it’s all about the quality about what is in the glass rather than how good it might sound on paper. The prestige of the world competition is shown by the fact that the most important sparkling wine wineries and Champagne Houses also take part in it, and the jury consists of renowned specialists: in addition to Tom Stevenson, Founder and Chairman, Essi Avellan Master of Wine and for the first time this year Simon Stockton master champagne expert judged the wines. Traditionally, only gold and silver medals are announced in the competition, so only the truly outstanding items will receive prizes, which also requires the unanimous decision of the jury members.
